This popular village event takes place annually on Easter Monday at 3pm. The 50 'contestants', who all have names, are launched into the River Solva at a point between the village and Middle Mill. They then bob their way downstream to the finishing line at the pedestrian bridge at the Foreshore car park. See past pictures from the day.
The Gamlin play area is close to the 'finish line' and is ideal for occupying the children whilst the race is going on!
